Its weakness.

Dont you find it interesting that it is thought that the all powerful God can be influenced by "gimme, gimme, gimme" ?

I suspect there'll be a lot of un-jesus like replies to you though.

My granddaughter, Bridget Michelle, was born on April 20, 1999, and seemed to be a perfectly healthy baby. Since a few days after her birth, it seemed like she breathed too fast, so I continued to take her back to the doctor's office. One night it seemed she was beginning to be in distress when she would suck her bottle. The next day, I called to make her an appointment at the doctor's office. They set the appointment for 4:00 p.m. The doctor's office called me back and said there was a cancellation and asked if could we bring her in at 3:00 instead of at 4:00. Approximately ten minutes after the doctor began examining her, she began to turn blue--the result of a very low amount of oxygen. Her pediatrician began giving her oxygen and called the ambulance to transport her to the hospital. The first miracle is obvious, had the appointment been at 4:00 my daughter would have been home with her by herself--in the country--and she may not have made it to the doctor on time. After numerous tests the doctors told us she was in full congestive heart failure. She was placed on a ventilator for five days, and we were not allowed to touch her or stimulate her in any way. The final diagnosis was cardiomyopathy, possibly caused by a virus that attacked her heart and damaged the heart muscle. Her only real hope for survival was a heart transplant. God pulled her through this and it was decided she would be evaluated and placed on a list for a transplant. Our family had to pick up and move to Arkansas temporarily in order for the transplant team to accept her. She was placed on the heart transplant list in July, 1999. Within three-and-a-half weeks, after diligently praying, our baby received a heart on August the 8th--a perfect match for her. Her surgery lasted one hour and within two days she was off the ventilator and trying to smile at her mother. We were back home within two weeks. She is doing great. If her cardiologist appointment goes well she will only have to take two medications to avoid rejection. God has truly blessed us and we are so thankful. We never gave up hope. Looking back, we see how God placed everything in the right place and put the right people in the right place. We give him all the credit and we thank him for the gifts he bestowed on the health care professionals that took care of her.

This is my miracle story and I am proud to share this with everyone reading.

i am glad you read this and good luck.

It seems many of us associate prayer with asking for material things. God is not an order supplier, we need to be spiritually mature. God can give us material things, He is the Supreme Controller whether we like it or not. He is far more pleased when we ask how can I please You. What do I need to do to please You? Why. Because by pleasing God, we become happy. Just like if the hand has an apple. If the hand tries to eat that apple without cooperating with the rest of the body, the nutrients from the apple cannot help the hand. But it the hand puts the apple in our mouths and it goes to our stomach and the body distributes the nutrients, the hand becomes nourished. If we simply try to satisfy ourselves with material things, we will never be satisfied. If we pray to God to find out what we can do to please Him, we will be satisfied.
No prayer is not stupid, but we have to wonder what really seperates us from the animals if we have no sense of our relationship with God. And worse what will happen to us at death. Unfortunately, destination unknown.

prayer can work for the non-believer as well.

Prayer is the name given to the focus of thoughts. that which you focus on becomes your prayer intent, thus begins the process of you prayer being answered with a solution.

You cliam that praying is pathetic, yet you do it every time you consentrate your mind on finding a sollution to a certain problem.

As far as your intent with your question, and self answer, you are basically calling yourself pathetic in the process of trying to gain some sort of attention. In fact, the process in which you came up with the question, answered the question and then posted it here with an intent for others to comment is the same process in which you yourself are calling pathetic.

Good luck with that..........

Actually what is pathetic is people who walk around in this world aimlessly, feeling empty inside, knowing that they long to be close to God, but don't know how. God is amazing and great and has worked in my life since I was born. He loves you and feels sad that u dont acknowledge him. I suggest you do this. It would be a shame if there "really" is a God and you denied him, and you end up burning in hell.

2 Peter 3:3-7 (King James Version)

3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

No it isn't pathetic, it is when we really get in touch with our Savior, and really listen to what He has to say to us. Christians have no qualms about praying, it is our lifeline to our Heavenly Father, in prayer we can praise Him, repent to Him, and ask Him for things, understanding of something we are troubling with, and guidance. There is nothing desperate or pathetic about that.

Actually it is pathetic that you feel you have to make comments like that. If you have no belief in God, that is your right. If I do and wish to pray to Him, that is my right.

What I consider to be the real problem is you have nothing to hold onto, so you have to resort to name calling, in an attempt to disparage those who have found happiness through faith!!

Actually, I do not think it is pathetic at all. I think it is an endearing quality to believe in something that is bigger than yourself and yet contained within you. I think it is rather pathetic to not have faith, hope or love enough to think there is a higher power in this universe that keeps us in balance and has a destiny that is greater than we can imagine. . .and that higher power could be named Allah, God, or just plain spirituality, whatever. . .but it does exist. . .

of course it isn't pathetic.
I mean, just because some people don't believe in God doesnt mean that they should think that praying is pathetic. There is no reason not to believe in God, or vice versa.
