Cats can be like dogs where sometimes when they are hot or thirsty they will pant. My cat did that once when the A/C in my apartment broke down. I got back from work and he drank all his water and had no more left. His was just sitting there panting like a dog would. I gave him some water, he drank it, and then he was fine.

Your kitty could be hot, or thirsty. Try to keep him/her cool, and make sure they have water. After a while if that doesn'y help, call a vet.

your kitty may be in some kind of pain, or maybe it is hot where you live, make sure your kitty has cold water for drinking and just keep on eye on her to make sure she is ok

my cat is crazy and runs and plays a lot. when she plays for a long time, she'll pant. kinda like a dog. its weird but shes healthy so it seems okay. sometimes she asks for water after too ( cuz even though we put water in their bowl, they enjoy drinking from the sink better) so maybe she/he is thirsty

everyone is correct, your cat is hot. If it won't drink water right away, get a towel wet with cool water and wrap the cat in it. This helps cool it down.

The cat could be hot, or it may be in respiratory distress....give it water and put it in a cool place.

My cat does this when he's stressed out and frightened. I've seen other cats do it when they're injured. If it doesn't stop soon, I'd take it to a vet.

ask your vet or get on a pet/vet specialized site. wrongly assumed answers could cost your cat's life.
