Given the empirical evidence and even smokers living in a cave know it's going to kill you.. Sheer stupidity aside, what is your reason for doing so ?
P.S. , I'm going to carry a loaded gun for the next person who throws a lit cigarette out the car window and hits my windshield.

Actually, Drew.. I could care less if you smoke on your own. It's your money, it's your teeth, it's your life. I'll even try to tolerate second hand smoke without gagging. It's when people like you think you're above the law and litter profusing, throwing your garbage out windows without a thought, stubbing them into the ground, standing right at a no smoking sign and puffing away. That's when I think there's something seriously wrong with "you people". It's no longer an issue of stupidity, but much worse.

I do, because I enjoy it.
By the way, I can't imagine anyone so rude and careless as to throw anything out a car window, much less a lit cigarette; I use the damned ashtray (which, thank you Chrysler, I had to buy separately).
Anyway, it's inexcusable. I'll consider loading the gun for you.

I smoke because I enjoy it, when I'm stressed it gives me a few minutes to calm down and relax. I haven't quit because I hate the self-righteous anti-smoking zealots, I'd rather lose a lung than give them the satisfaction of thinking they've made me quit.
Incidentally, all 4 of my grandparents smoked, all of them lived well into their 80s, and none of them died from a smoking related illness. Yeah, smoking will increase your chances of getting lung cancer, emphysema, whatever else, but it doesn't directly cause these diseases.
P.S. I'll try not to hit your windshield, I'll aim for your open window.
