No, there's no way I would ever join the navy, but if you want to then have fun!

I am already 18 but I am going to join the Navy after college to try and become a SEAL.

Good luck to phatom on getting into the Naval Academy. I started to apply but my grades aren't all that and I've already completed some college but would still have to go to the Academy for 4 years.

Seth has the right idea SOMEWHAT. There is pride in every branch. If you want to do a lot of shooting and all that you can do it any branch. Even the Air Force has Security Forces and SpecOps. Although you aren't as likely to see combat as some of the other jobs such as Infantry with the USMC or Army.

The Army has infantry, Rangers, Green Berets and all that good stuff..you will have alot of pride and alot to tell your grand kids.

The Navy has SEALs and EOD among other things. Once again a lot of pride and plenty of cool stories to tell.

But I definitely agree with you about the Marine Corps, I am most likely joining the Reserves while I go to college for most of the reasons you mentioned.

I would join the Marine Corps, because there's no more proud branch of the Military. Think about why you're joining, and that'll answer your question for you. Education? Any of them. Want do defend your freedom and this country? Any of them. Ships or dry land? If ships, Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and some Air Force. Dry land? Army. Want some trigger time, a bunch of pride, sense of belonging and everything else awesome? Marine Corps. Just depends on what you want. For an easy ride, the navy's a good bet, but what the hell are you going to tell your grand-kids?

I plan on applying for the Naval Academy or NROTC to become a Navy Officer. No other branch of the military can bring so much firepower to bear at a single time than the Navy. I might change my mind, however, and go Marines. NROTC and the Academy leave that option open for quite a while since the branches are traditionally so cooperative.

I am, but i ain't gonna be on no damn ship. I'mma be a Seabee, i'll always be on land. And i'll be with Marines which is cool. Although sometimes they do go on ships, it is very rare. My friends uncle was a Seabee for 17 years and never got on a ship, and my friend has been a Seabee since 2001 and he hasn''t been on a ship. Anyways, i'm definetly joining.
