normal intake of water for healthy adults should be at least 2 liters

Supposedly 64 oz. (8 glasses, each being 8 oz.) but if you are doing a lot of exercise, you will need more (just make sure you're getting enough electrolytes to replace those you lose through perspiration.) Other factors are there too, such as if you are sick or otherwise not in full health (such as if you have some sort of condition, mild to severe, that may call for you to drink more water.) Just don't drink too much or you'll flush out all the good things (such as electrolytes) from your system and, if you drink enough, you might kill yourself. As funny as it sounds, every now and then you'll come across a story of someone who honestly killed themselves by taking in too many liquids. But you'd have to drink something upwards of a couple gallons before you get into that range, so you'd probably be OK. Hope this helps =)

P.S. Be careful of coffee and teas (or anything else with caffeine) because those drinks act as diuretics (meaning they dehydrate you.) Teas are generally not that bad, but be careful of how much you have of anything with caffeine or a high salt content.

Experts say the idea water intake is calculated by dividing individual's body weight by half and use this number as the ounces of water one should consume.

For example, a 125-pound person should drink about 8 servings of water each day. However, this is not a set number because daily water intake should also depend on daily activity. If you lose a good sweat because you exercised today, drink more water.

A good indicator of dehydration is the color intensity of your urine. Normal urine's color is clear to lightly yellow.

Hope it helps.

At "least" 8 cups per day... and when you drink something other than water, you need to counteract that beverage with the same amount of water.

Keeping ice cold water with you at all times really helps you achieve this... out of sight though, out of mind!

8 eight ounce glasses a day is healthy without going overbaord. A glass or two of tea or coffee counts towards this quota as well and they have healthy flavonoids in them. It mostly matters that you get enough fluids. It is advised to keep the caffinated and carbonated drinks to a minimum.

The 1.5 liters sounds right. But if you work out in side like I do in the hot sun.
Their is no such thing as to much.
I've been known to put away 6 8oz bottles in a day.
