I use Corel Paint Shop Pro X. Does anyone know if there is a way to make a picture black and white but then have 1 object still in color? If not, is there a program that I can download for free that does that?

Thanks

I don't use that product, but there is 1 way that will work in any application.

Make a copy of your file. Open one of them and convert it to grayscale. Now convert it back to color. You will be left with a grayscale image.

Now open the duplicate, copy your object and place it in the grayscale image. Because you previously converted the image back to color, the object can maintain it's color.

Now you have what you need and can close and delete the other file.

I know of no programs that automatically do what you want to do.
You will have to work on the pic some to get what you want.
In PSPX, make a copy of the image (never work on the original file), then convert it to greyscale.

Add a layer for each color that you want to add. On the layers, use one of the paintbrushes to color in the area you want colored. You can adjust the opacity of the layers.

When you have accomplished what you want, merge the layers (flatten).

Creating artistic effects with images can be a bit painstaking, but the results are well worth the time and effort.
