Pay very close attention to the changes in behavior. If someone starts staying at work late when they usually don't, that could be a red flag. Does he insist on showering as soon as he gets home before you really get to hug him or sleep together? Again, none of these things on their own are signs that he's cheating on you, but if you add them all up together it could give you the whole picture. If he used to say "I miss you" and "I really care for you" or things like that and he no longer says them, that could also be another red flag. What's he like in bed? Has that changed? Does he all of the sudden want to try new things? When you ask questions is he vague or avoids it?
Another thing to look for is small tiny details. For example, do you smell perfume on him that's different than the ones his female friends have? When you climb into his car is the seat settings different? Let's say he doesn't smoke but you find cig ashes in his car.
You can go crazy trying to find out if he's cheating on you or not. A big thing now a days is that women and men will hire private investigators to follow their significant other to see if they are, in fact, cheating. I think that's a waste of time personally. If you already think someone might be cheating on you then you have to ask yourself if you're happy in that relationship. I've seen hundreds of couples stay together when it was clear that one of them did not really want to be in it.
I also think asking him if he's cheating on you is pointless because if he is he's going to lie. If he isn't he's going to get annoyed and hurt. You can do some detective work on your own, but if you really have to go that far that I would say this is probably not the right relationship for you. And I've heard it a million times when women tell me "but Rod, he's so sweet, I love him, and he has a lot of good characteristics" which really puts horse blinders on them because they can't see the truth.
And the truth is if you think someone is cheating you, they probably are and even if they aren't, it's time to either fix the relationship or move on. Depending on the situation, of course. From my own personal standpoint someone can only cheat on me after we have sat down, talked about it, and both agreed that we are both going to be exclusive. Too often I see people hook up and one of them assumes they are exclusive boyfriend and girlfriend, yet the other person might not have thought so. So make sure that this is something you two have also talked about.
