I'm getting married in a barn in January and want a natural wooden archway. All I can find is white wooden arches and wrought iron arches. Any suggestions?????

Try your local home improvement center. If you don't want to buy one, they should have instructions on how to make one

I am in the rental business and We do not have any wooden arches nor do I see very many for rent. However, your best option might be to purchase one either already stained or plain (and you can choose what stain colour you would like). I know that they can sometimes be expensive but if you have a garden or a yard you can put it in after and it will be like a keep sake from the wedding. Maybe something cool would be to engrave your intitials into it.
I hope this helps!

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/vTpbE
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

if you made one for your own wedding you could then hire it out to others to recoup the cost.
also it would something special; do you have a relative/friend who is good at woodwork who may be prepared to make it for you as a wedding gift?

The good thing about an outdoor wedding is that you don't really need to do that much decorating. Find a park, garden, a friend's yard or some other beautiful place (there are many that you don't have to pay a lot for) and let the place be the centerpiece of the ceremony. I saw an outdoor wedding where they did a great job of incorporating existing flower beds into the layout of the ceremony site. It was amazing. The previous comment about a gazebo is a good idea, a ready made trellis and altar area! Consider making the wedding less formal- this way you can save on your dress and you can get by with a buffet or tapas instead of a full meal at the reception. You can also consider serving just dessert and drinks instead of an entire meal. Forgo the open bar and serve wine and beer instead. The easiest ways to save money are by limiting the guest list and food/beverages.
