do you have tomatoe paste? if you do just add water to it. if you don't take some ketchup put it in a pot add water and garlic and onion and some oreganono. good luck!

if you use ketchup, be sure you dilute it some or whatever your making will have a sweet tang to it. Do you by chance have a can of condensed tomato soup on hand? If so, use that instead. You are just going to have to improvise. I would even use picante sauce if I had to.

Do you have canned tomatoes? If so, drain of about half the juice and whirr them in the food processor or blender. You may have to cook your dish a little longer because that won't be as thick, but should do in a pinch.

stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato puree. Never use ketchup except as an additive to shrimp cocktail.

When I was a kid, I ate spaghetti with ketchup all the time. It was "Jewish Marinara" LOL
I still eat it and still love it.

CATSUP WILL BE OK BUT WILL ADD SWEETNESS. HOW ABOUT TOMATO SOUP? CANNED TOMATOES WOULD WORK BUT I'M SURE YOU THOUGHT OF THAT.MAYBE TOMATO JUICE OR V8 JUICE.
