I am speaking of stuff like...hair straighteners, dvd's and personal care items....PLease no silly answers !!!!

You are not allowed any liquids, gels or creams which include make up, perfume, deodrant, I packed my straightner, hair drier in my suitcase. You are not also allowed purchase any alcohol or perfume in the duty free. You should be alright with dvds, i pods etc but just to make sure contact your airline and ask them

No liquids at all. I was just on a plane a few weeks ago and they didn't even let people take gum. But definitely put all of your liquid items in your checked baggage.
