You can pay thousands of dollars for some of the world's truly "best" scopes, but one of the best values I've found is from Barska. It's an inexpensive Chinese-made scope, but a lot of scope for the money. I have an AC10056, which is a 3-12x50 with an electronic illuminated reticule. I have it mounted on a Remington .300 Long-Action Ultra-Mag, and I am shooting 1" groups in the top half of the bulls-eye at 100 yards. This scope was about $65 online. I personally couldn't shoot better that with a scope costing 20 times as much.

There are many high priced scopes. Swarovski, had very good glass and is crystal clear to look through. However I really can't justify spending more than $1500 on a scope when you can get a high end Leupold for $600-$900. They are excellent scopes and well worth the money. They are backed with lifetime garuantees.
Even the high end Nikon and Bushell are excellent scopes.
It all really depends on how much you want to spend.

Zeiss, Swarovski, Schmidt and Bender. For value, Nikon makes a good scope, as does Leupold. I have a Zeiss Conquest that was only $399. It is a great scope.

That is largely a matter of opinion. I personally prefer Leupold scopes as I have never had a problem with one and they are guaranteed forever no questions asked. I purchased a Leupold 4x at a garage sale which had lost its nitrogen charge but it was a 60's era scope. I sent it in to Leupold expecting to pay for it to be recharged, they completely rebuilt it and shipped it back to me better than when it was new for no charge. That made me a lifelong customer

Best or best value? If you want the best a Swarovski PH series is right up there, but it's right up there in price too. Maybe add how much you want to spend and you can get a more hlpeful answer.
