At the moment, I'm seeking suitable employment. My first criterion for "suitable" is what I refer to as "working together to save the world" -- that is, I much prefer MEANINGFUL employment.

I see the best hope for making this world into a place fit for humans and other living things in education. We (as a species) have learned a LOT. I would like to contribute to developing an educational system wherein students get the benefit of what has been learned, and learn how to use their minds to figure out what to think and what to do.

I believe that, if this could happen, that generation would set about accomplishing the goal of massively reducing the needless suffering in this world, freeing everyone to live the kinds of lives reasonable and compassionate people can live.

(Gee, here you give me the ultimate chance to spout off, and I find myself only marginally articulate -- if that.)

Well, being 48 years old my goals etc. have kind of changed over the years, as I've been more and more disappointed by some things, yet reassured by other things.

so my goals now are basically to help my family, to make some more good music, to help contribute to human culture, science, technology, philosophy at least a little bit, and hopefully to stay alive long enough until some real live aliens visit Earth from somewhere else.

What am I seeking?

Hmmmm...interesting you bring this up. I have been wondering that now for a long time, and this question literally came out of my mouth not but 24 hours ago.

I honestly have no earlthy clue what I am seeking as per what I want in this life, but I do believe I know what I am seeking per what God wants for me in this life. I am seeking a deeper relationship with Him. I am seeking to become the person He created me to be; to fulfill whatever potential lies within me that I have yet to see myself.

I am at a moment in my life where I feel lost, but I feel lost because I have let the worldly things that surround me, affect me. I have let them creep in. I have not been offensive enough to the world's tactics, and that ended very recently. I cannot tell you how long ago it was that this decision was made; honestly, I do not know if it was overnight since last night...or if it was just an hour ago. All I know is that all morning into this afternoon...things have changed.

And all I am seeking in this life right now, is a deeper relationship with my Lord and Savior. And my only reason right now for living my life is to just grow a deeper relationship with Him. Whatever other reasons and goals are out there for me, they will be revealed to me in time through His timing, not mine.

Thank you for posting this question. It helped me be more honest with myself concerning this topic. :) God bless you.
