What is the best way to get up old dog pee stains (and get rid of the smell...)?

Places like Petsmart and Petco sell a product called Nature's Miracle, which does a great job of removing urine stains and smells. Simple Green does a good job, too, but always check to make sure that the area you're cleaning is colorfast and won't be damaged.

Some people also swear by soaking the area in white vinegar, letting it sit, blotting the area dry, and then shampooing or washing as usual. The Nature's Miracle (or similar enzyme remover product) has always worked better in my experience, though.

Zeolite fines, Place 1 tablespoon in a gal. glass jar, pour in clean water. let set a minute then soak the area. When dry vaccuum. The Zeolites will also clean up the germs for feline lucemia, parvo and stuff. Makes a fantastic air cleaner. Stains may take a couple of cleanings, but everything I have tried it on has disappeared.

If I am not mistaken the only way to get rid of the smell is to replace the carpet and padding. Once dog urine goes all the way threw it's pretty much ruined.

Really it's oxyclean. I have an 80 lb. husky hybrid who got a really really bad case of diarrhea and if it gets that out and gets rid of the smell than it can do anything

water down sum disinfectant and leave on 4 2 mins then dab off

Urine eradicator. It breaks up the emzymes in the carpet and fabric.
