Parvo.......nast business. I too had a dog die of it, though not on my land..... Parvovirus can live a long time in the environment. This makes it harder to advise you concerning getting a new puppy. It is possible that parvovirus can live several months (I have seen references to as long as 5 or 6 months) in the environment. You have taken good steps to reduce the risk but there would be some risk to a new puppy, especially in the next two to three months.
I would be hesitant to get a new puppy for awhile if it is less than 20 weeks of age. If it is over that age and has been vaccinated at 16 and 20 weeks of age for parvovirus, the odds are very very good that the vaccine will have protected the new puppy by then.
Hope that was of some help to you and good luck. you can also call a veterinarian and see what he/she thinks.

Bleach. Dilute it and mop all area with it. Carpet is another story, as is outside where it can live in the soil. Do not bring any puppies into the house for a minimum of 6 months.
If they are puppies from a mother dog you had...vaccinate better. Parvo is a preventable disease.

I am a vet tech and groomer, and we had an outbreak of parvo in our grooming shop. We stayed up all night cleaning. Parvo can live in your house for up to a year. Wash all materials in washer with Javex in hot water. Get your hands on VIRCON, and wash EVRTYTHING in your house with it. Have your dogs vaccinated against parvo and if you walk in feces or vomit outside, rinse the bottom of your shoes with 1 part bleach, 9 parts water. Talk to your vet before bringing another dog/puppy home.

Bleach or go to your vet with a spray bottle and ask them for some Kennel-Sol! Those are the ONLY two things that will kill parvo. You will need to spray your whole yard with bleach as well as clean every surface of your home with bleach and the surfaces that can't be cleaned with bleach will need to be sprayed with the Kennel-Sol.

Bleach is the only answer, but you can't bleach everything. We are having this problem right now at the home of another foster parent. She has been told by the vet to not have another dog below the age of one for an entire yr.

You might be able to get rid of Parvo in your house but not in your yard. It can stay dormant for YEARS. To avoid that problem get an adult dog.
It's a horrible disease that kills puppies by causing massive diarrhea.
