Perhaps it would be nice if you went to a relatively safe messageboard that you know many British or Irish people go to. That's where I met my pen pal who's (trying) to teach me Gaelige :P.
If any of this helps:
Hello-Dia dhuit
Reply- Dia is Maire dhuit.
How are you?- Conas ata you?
Reply- Ta me(Taim) go maith.(I'm fine) Conas ata tu fein?
I live in- Ta me i mo gconai i (place)
My name is- (name) is ainm dom.
You are a fool- Is tusa amadan. (Don't ask )
I like- Is maith liom (thing)
I hate- Is fuath liom (thing)
Goodbye- Slan
Goodbye (friend)- Slan go foill.
(Irish saying)-Nil aon tintean mar do tintean fein. Meaning- No place like home.
Bh—pronounced as “v”
Hello my friend- Dia dhuit mo chara
Mo= my, do= you, a= his, a=her
Nil builtear fuil as an tuirnap = one cannot draw blood from a turnip
Fillean meal ar an meallaire = evil returns to a evil doer
Go n-ithe an cat thú is go n-ithe an diabhal an cat.
May the cat eat you, and may the cat be eaten by the devil
Titim gan éirí ort.
May you fall without rising
meacht gan teacht ort.
May you leave without returning
Sláinte chugatGood health to you
Saol fada chugat
Long life to you.
Tah do cheann cobh maith leis c-hairaid.: you’re head looks like a carrot

You would be better finding a night class in your area and learning the spoken word. Most colleges will have evening classes running (depending on the area you live in ;-) )
eg. BIFHE in Belfast.
Also local Gaelige Societies run classes
e.g. Cumman Cluain Ard in Belfast or Lecale Gaelic Society in Downpatrick (http://www.leathchathail.org/)
Hope this helps, Adh mór.
