No, of course not. He had every right to kick our butts right off the planet if He wanted to, He chose not to, however. Instead He only went after the Religious Pretenders of the day.

FYI He kept many religious practices Himself, so it is not "Religion" that He rejected. It was people with impure motives pretending to be religious.
