Unfortunately he's engaged and it's not to you. You either go and wish him the best and behave yourself, or stay away. There's a time and a place for everything and that is not the time or the place for you to profess your love to him.

Go and support him. Be happy for him. This happens to lots of women out there. He seems more appealing because he's off limits and taken. And I'm betting he would have never dated you because dating your best friend's sister is not a good idea.
Eventually you will find someone for you. Maybe even at this shindig. Go, and make sure you look hot. There's got to be some single guys there that won't be disgusting.

He's not available to you and you have known it as he is in a relationship. You have to get over it, put all thoughts of you and him out of your mind. Put on a brave face, go to the engagement as, who knows, there might be another dishy hunk there that you fancy!! The only alternative would be to not go, but that would be rather childish.

Be honest with yourself, if you know you will just spend the whole time fighting back the tears then don't put yourself in that position and don't go. If you feel that you can hide your disappointment, then go because you may meet someone better.

There's not a lot you can do honey, he's promised to another.
I know how that feels, but just know that the one for you is much better then the one you've just lost. Move on with hope in your heart.
God bless.....x
