He who asks questions of a source other than Our Father has forsaken the Lord's knowledge." (Matthew 1:26)

Does this mean to be Christian we cannot allow ourselves an education outside of Dogma? And wouldn't that keep Christians small minded and ignorant? Please don't bash Christians.

you forgot 'fear of God is the beginning of wisdom'. but this is a deeper knowledge, the kind you don't get from what a college professor tells you. yes we're allowed to go to school, how else can we get good jobs

That Christian sounds like a smug, ignorant person. And, needless to say, the Bible has a lot of negative things to say about those who refuse to amass knowledge. All over the Bible, there is encouragement of study and gaining wisdom. The Bible encourages the reader to study to show himself approved. The Bible says in Proverbs that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. That would mean that the Bible encourages wisdom, and, in fact, has many good things to say about the wise in contrast with the scathing remarks it makes about the foolish, but, in the end, if you never come to the knowledge of God, you have not begun to be wise.
Finally, look at Biblical characters. Paul, the greatest apostle of all time, was a scholar who knew multiple languages, studied many books, and used the same ardor with which he studied to study the Bible. Paul's learning couldn't have come overnight. Also, to learn, must one not ask questions from time to time to perfect his knowledge? Though they may be inquisitive and may sound strange, even ridiculous or heretical at first, must they not be answered to gain a complete understanding of the subject? Of course, especially when it comes to theology and the Bible. And isn't this questioning process simply a part of study, which the Bible encourages? Of course! If one wants to understand the nature of God and the Bible, I don't see why one cannot ask questions.
The person who made that comment doesn't seem to know what he's saying. He seems to be attempting to rebuke other people for asking natural, honest questions.

actually certain, if I see some thrilling or suspicious questions/solutions from someone i will check out their about me and frequently even search for with the help of their activity or maybe examine the call they have signed up with(which no human being ought to be able to be certain yet there's a trick to it lol). Yeah that is somewhat stalkerish notwithstanding that is extremely functional to observe of trolls and benefit perception on human beings right here. like you're a mean Angel, what does that mean besides?

My Bible does not have such a text in it... Matthew 1 only has 25 verses.

He is yanking everybody's chain or... he just don't know the Bible.

I am appalled at how many never even looked it up "to see the context".

You think that is bad. Try looking at all of "child of gods" questions and answers. They are horrible! This guy really needs more people praying for him. It's good to know that I am not the only Christian that comment offended.

having come from a christian background which I have since rejected I would say yes, definitely.
the christian church does not follow the teachings of jesus, I do not think jesus would even approve of today's bible.
in my defining moment I prayed that god would lead me to truth, whether that be christianity or other, now I'm so far from christianity that I know I could never believe the church's teachings or their bible.
question everything, especially the answers you are given.

There are different levels of truth. Some truth has to do with natural world science or history, some practical advice and some truth is spiritual truth.

Christians are supposed to know a lot and not be ignorant.
