Because Jesus is their head!

How in hell did you ever get the idea that "christians" or anyone else for that matter are supposed to donate all their money to the poor?

LOL!

Seriously! This is one of the most ridiculous and misinformed "questions" I have ever read!

You obviously have not done any reading or research or study on your own but are going by hearsay and rumours and popular myths which have been twisted and manipulated by others attempting to promote their own anti-Christian agendas.

Grow up!

Because they do not find Reality in Christianity. If they did they would realize that beyond their human heart and mind exists a Being (Who was once hosted by a man known historically as Jesus Christ). They called Him 'Son' ... yet they did not accept His Words: (more or less) "Someday you will know that I am you ... and you are I". If 'man' as Christian would accept 'his/her' true Being beyond the garment they wear ... their would be no poor. If there were 'rich' ... 'Each Man' would be 'rich'. And Christians would seek to be poor and share the 'Richness' of those starving to death ... who know the Truth of Life.

I don't know any Christian families who are rich. Perhaps Bill Gates.

The parable of the rich man is too often repeated to mean giving up all you have and living on the street in misery. Also there is a spiritual sense to what Jesus said like selling or teaching the truths of faith that you know.

Not all the money...just a part...and the giving is not about abandoning money altogether, it's about sharing...sharing is not giving everything...Some Christians are rich...some are poor, but rich in spirit...we believe that giving (money, physical help or moral support....etc) promotes receiving (what you give you will receive back multiplied)...not necessarily in form of money, but in form of blessings- health, happiness, peace of mind, love...etc. Some Christian sects think that they should give all their money...I believe in parts of the world Witness of Jehovah followers are told to do so.

Sorry but I don't know any rich Christians personally. We are supposed to share and care for each other. We were not told we had to give everything away. We are each to live as we are called.

My family is a Christian family and we struggle from pay check to pay check and can barely make the bills each month. We are definitely not rich in monetary measure, but I can say I am very rich in God's measure, faith, hope and love.

Christians are asked to give 10% "TIDINGS" of their: TIME, TALENT, and MONEY.

When we give this 10% it is said that we will be rewarded greatly ... this can be hear and now ... in the after life ... or both. For the more we give, the more we shall recieve. Apparently, you're seeing the immediate reward ... but my friend, there is a grater reward that you don't see here and now.

"though he (Jesus) was rich, yet for your sake . . . became poor so that by his poverty, you might become rich."

Who says Christians have to give away all their money? How could they build cathedrals and have pastors in Jaguars if they did that? Actually, the poor give money to Christians, kind of like buying an insurance policy.

The biblical history is full of people that God blessed financially. Abraham was the richest man on earth- even had his own army. Daniel ran babylon at it's richest point (imagine a jew running it(bagdad) today), Joseph ran egypt. Jesus was made very wealthy by three arab kings who came to worship him seeking favor from the man who they knew would become King Of Kings.. When men follow God, God blesses everything they do. For it is God who is able to make you wealthy..and He does it so that you can bless His Holy Name even more!!

Christians pay tithes. And if you think Christian families are rich, it is because God has blessed them. They don't waste their money on Jesus shaped pancake molds like you do, and then blaspheme Him. Watch your step you little freak, you may be humbled.
