check around & see what the going rate is in your area
but mim sxale is close to 6.75 for any job
so 4 to 5 out to be in any range
12 hours * 4=48 a night * 5 = $240
this is a low rate more likely charged by a teen
working part time, but you are responsible all night
1/@ of this childs daily life
like when do kids get sick?
nights, right?
so this is a more than reasonable price

I like the answer above me ("Celtic"), along with "Liz n" and "justwondering" has a good idea. These are friends of yours.. and they may not be making 200 everynight.. However, 200 a week--if thats what you're talking about, I want you to be my friend!!
150 to 200 can be reasonable, but it's low too... However, if the child is sleeping, well then it may be too much. It all depends if the child is asleep/ awake.
If the child is rowdy and never goes to sleep-- keeping you up 24/7, then that can cause problems...It will disrupt your life.. You of course know this, but anyway... There are a lot of things to consider.
If I was asking you to take care of my child, I may/ may not go for that price. Of course I live in TX., so I could just find an illegal-- nanny that'll do it for .50 cents an hour...
....The child will be asleep-- or at least we think/ hope so... It's up to you. Just don't screw 'em over.. and you-- don't get screwed over either.. Good Luck..
Oh.. and Have Fun!!

Well, if you break it down hourly, $150 comes to $2.50/hour. I would think this should be plenty considering the child will be sleeping for a lot of the time she's there. Of course, it also depends on where you are. Child care is very different around the country. I live in KS in a fairly small town, so this is very reasonable. In bigger cities, the $200 might be more on the money.

If you're watching her overnight, it's really not too much work. You don't need to entertain her much, feed her, bathe her, etc. I don't think you should charge something like $10 an hour for the hours she isn't even awake.. So I don't know if you're asking about daily or weekly, but I'd say daily.. no more than $60.

I would charge per hour the child is awake..., then charge a different rate when the child is asleep. I seems unfair to charge full price for babysitting a sleeping child. Un less the kid gets up alot
WOW 600 dollars? Where on earth do you live? I guess the rates would be different depending on the cost of living of your area. In my area....600 dollars a week would be highway robbery!!!!!

200 is too much, bear in mind that the parents might not even be making that much in their day. you have to make yourself worthwhile. I think that $10/hr is a reasonable babysitting fee, and that depends on where you live. This is how much I made working in NYC where everything is expensive. I think $120 a day is reasonable. This also depends on how old you are and what your other commitments are. I guess there is just a lot to consider.

$150 is comparable to a decent daycare where i live. That includes feeding snacks, lunch, and all the learning and interaction that comes from a good center. I would think that as a friend, you maybe could do a little better that that. If it were my friend, and so little is expexted, I would ask for $80.

Wow, sorry you have to work the Night shift, that's a real pain in the ***. However to answer your question, yes, 150 - 200 is fair,
well they would be sleeping most of the time anyway.
Hope you have somebody you can trust...

$200.00 sounds reasonable. And get something in writing in case she has a medical emergency!!! Do both parents really need to be away, or do they just wanna travel together?
