I have medium length hair with ugly waves in it. All I can really do is a Plain Jane ponytail.
What can I do with it, I'm not good with hair and I'm very unskilled with a blowdryer.

You should see a professional hairdresser to get your hair relaxed if you don't like the natural waves in it..... There is a japanese relaxer that is really great... I have been getting it done every 6 months (I don't like the waves in my hair either)..... get a haircut... and maybe some color if you are into that.....

When done.... ask the hairdresser to advise ways that you can do your own hair at home....

Make sure to visit a hair salon at least once a month.... I highly recomend this... (I am overboard... I go every Saturday... it is my thing to do that day and I LOVE it.... after 10 years seeing the same styilist I get a "special price" on everything I get done).... and that is another thing...once you find a stylist you like - stick to them like glue...

Good luck!!

You can try straightening it with a straightener. You can buy it at a convenience store like Jewel. I personally like the ceramic Conair one. You can also try to get Fiber Gum from the brand Bed Head, and when you step out of the shower rub some of the fiber gum into your hands and scrunch your hair.

Don't use a blowdryer, it might just make it frizzy. try putting some hair cream in it to make it smooth, then straiten or curl it. It works for me, it will work for you!

i have wavy hair too, what you do is when you get up shower and towel dry your hair, then you flip your head upside down and put moose on it, scrunch your hair all over when you apply the moose, it makes your hair semi curly. Or, you could split your hair down the middle and do an easy braid, or 2 ponytails.if you go with the ponies, let them sort of loose, don't tighten them.

GOOD LUCK!!

GET A HAIR STRAIGHTNER....(sorry for caps)....but buy one from a hair store....go to sally's if you have one......buy one that has a temperature settings....don't get one at a target or something...they suck.clip your hair up in sections, and straighten one at a time....you'll look great!...be careful, they get very hot!
