actually i think that the law in America about perverts like child molesters, rapists,... its a little sad. In Bellingham, WA a guy went to a halfway house for child molesters posing as a federal agent and ended up popping the 2 of them. the 3rd guy had gone to work and came back and saw his 2 buddies dead. None of them had served much time for their multiple molestations but because this one guy comes and takes these nasty jerks and puts them 6 ft under like the government should do he get 40 yrs per. basically a life sentence!!! what he did was heroic. i went through sexual abuse my siblings and not one of us forgot the pain of such an act of perversity. my message to all chomo's out there is " Go and kill your self, what you have done will screw those innocent children for the rest of the lives and will always leave a scar. i know I'm a mother of 2 and underwent 4 years of sexual before the state took me. then adopted, the following 10 yrs i underwent emotional, mental and physical abuse before the state took me. Now all abusers out there listen up, it comes back ten fold. ever hear what goes around comes around??? think about that on your death bead wherever it may be.

It matters what you mean by "better". Your idea of better is probably much different than mine. I think the better punishment is the one that actually reduces or is shown by research to reduce the incidence of the crime. Regarding England (Pardon me for capitalizing the word. It's an old habit.): they don't kill their convicted murder-felons the way some U.S. states do, and
England also has a lower murder rate (for a very long time now). But a lower murder rate is MY idea of "better", only MY idea.

If murders are imprisoned than that's sufficient punishment. Perverts--what punishment does America excel at for these people?

RFIDs for everyone, it's that simple. That way everyone can be given a clean slate, prisons won't be overrrun, it eliminates the need for most jobs like crooked cops, judges, lawyers, parole officers ect, big brother watches everything and most people will be so paranoid they won't screw up. it also makes way for elimination of capital punishment, sex offenders affect the victim forever, it doesn't go away no amount of counseling or medication fixes it, no amount of jail time for the perpetrator fixes what is undone to the victim.

Yes they should. I think the problem is that the government says there isn't enough room in prisons so they release people early. If someone commits a crime they should be punished for it properly, not until they decide they've 'learnt their lesson'.

LIFE FOR MURDER.
LIFE FOR PEDOPHILES.

Neither can be reformed. They are what they are: Murderers. One murders the life out of their victims, and the other murders the emotional innocence & developmental stages out of children.

THROW THE KEY AWAY ONCE IT'S TURNED!!!

Well, the violent and sexual crime rates are much higher in the U.S. than in the U.K., so it does not seem like it would be a good idea for the U.K. to try to do things more like the U.S. Whatever the U.K. is doing, it seems to be working better than whatever the U.S. is doing.
