There is only a difference according to the law.
Federal law and constitutional protections are close to being meaningless under the current regime. And yes, that's hypocritical.

Strange question to understand.
1. Taliban fighters have unique tactics and techniques that differ than Al Queda.
2. Taliban fighters will fight from a trench line or stronghold until they are killed; Al Queda will fight, and attempt to maneuver if they can, and escape if they can.
3. Suspected means when the combat commander on the ground can not immediately identify if the combatants were Taliban or Al Queda.
4. As far as Saudi Arabia being more extreme...absolutely not.
The Taliban forbid education, sports, TV, music, social activities for women. Any crime against the Koran was dealt with in:
a. Public Torture
b. Prison
c. Execution
5. Men had to grow beards, and could not discuss anything outside of the Koran, and the Women could expose no skin except for the hands and feet.
6. Saudi Arabia has TV, Radio,Internet, Shopping Centers, and Restaurants.
Now, the policy to trust Saudi Arabia is not my policy. I was there with a SF Team in the late 1980's, there is allot of mis-trust, conspiracy, etc., going on within the country. Do I trust them......absolutely not! Should we trust Saudi Arabia.....NO!
Back to the Taliban. After Tora Bora, I got to see Kabul, and saw first hand the torture cells, the famous sports stadium that saw no sports but mass public executions; I saw and spoke to Afghans listening to disgusting and frightening stores.

Saudi Arabia is not a known terror country. They may have terrorists from Saudi Arabia, but they denounce terrorism, and bust terrorists. Also, you see, Saudi Arabia is a country, and the Toweliban is a terror organization. You're wrong. If you're in the Taliban, or Al-Qaeda, America will kill you, or detain you for a very, very long time.

Well, I don't know where Saoudi Arabia is, but if you mean Saudi Arabia than why do you believe it was more extreme than the Taliban? More powerful maybe, more people maybe, more extreme - I don't think so.
As far as taliban and suspected taliban, you call them potatos and I call them pototos, bomb them both.

Of course the US is being hyppocritical. Of course it is... that's never in question.
I'm fairly sure everyone except the politically blind can see hyppocrasy... the reason for it is just that we tend to like some people and not others... it depends who does what to get on our good side....
Frankly... it's worked for us the past few decades... we're still not dead. That's the bright side... I don't agree with it but you must admit that this 2 party system hasn't destroyed us.
