I agree with Krizzle's Fwehnd! Asking the question is a great start. Let's be honest, most of us parents are content to settle for adequate most of the time. We have no training, very little experience, and are just set loose. Somehow, we seem to muddle through.
I would say that out of the thousand things you have to do, there are a few top important ones.
Firstly, you are the role model for your child, certainly for the first few years.
Secondly, you are in charge . Children need and respond to rules.
Thirdly, communicate. Tell your children when you are pleased with them and when you are not AND WHY.
Fourthly, enjoy it. It won't last forever.
As for the rest, if they don't end up in hospital you've done OK.
All the best.

communication always. make your child/children feel that they can tell you anything at any time. Make a conversation about anything and that will lead to alot of subjects. you will build a stronger bond and you will get closer to them. Time spent is important to a child especially when you start early in their life.dont lose it because one mistake can ruin your relationship forever.

Never forget that your child is a completely separate individual from you.
Before you do or say anything to your child, ask how you'd feel if someone did or said that to you.
Respect your child and expect respect back from him or her.

Have love in mind with every decision you make!!! Take care of your children because you love them, talk to them because you love them, discipline them with love, teach them with love, tuck them in with love. Most of all hug them with love and know that in the end you did your best to raise them!!
