Science always, proves the bible right, but many people hate being set to standards.
This is what the bible says about them:
2 Peter 3:4-7 (King James Version)
4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Why do people believe that if it isn't the Bible you lean on... then it's Science?
And I don't have a problem with someone quoting the Bible at me. I have quoted it in return. What is annoying though, is when someone posts a law from the Old Test, using it to condemn another to hell because that Non did something against it. Yet, refuses to use those very same laws on themselves... justifying their abusive actions by hiding behind their God. I assume that's why other Non's get upset when someone quotes the Bible at them. It's as if the quoter has suddenly become the Judge and has laid sentence down, simply because they can quote the book.

Because the Bible is the sacred book of just ONE religion. What about the Q'uran, the Torah? Are these invalid because they belong to different religions?
Science span all walks of life yet the Bible only covers Christianity - one set of beliefs.
Another thing, people don't like to be threatened. When you quote a scientific fact, it doesn't profess to someone that they will be sent to Hell for not sharing the same beliefs as someone else.

science books are not our proof, they record observations of nature, those observations are the proof.
christians use the bible as their proof even though there is no proof for the bible.
don't get me wrong, I believe in god, I believe there are some truths in the bible, but when you take the bible as 100% true you fall into the trap.
haven't you ever wondered why certain books were chosen to be put in the bible while others left out? why do the catholic bible have more books than the christian bible? could it be that the bible was compiled by man and like man is imperfect?
god can speak through anything, but not everything god speaks through is entirely of god.

bibal was written in a period that science was not even born. Its very easy to say the world is created in 6 days.
But you need to go through large pile of books when it comes to science to find out the actual birth of the universe.
Science still keep discovering.
But science depend on evediance and facts. Science is you. You know the water is in three conditions - Ice, water and steam. but its a miracle for the unknown.
When you come to know the molicules created the water and the water bubble. you will start to become a scientist.
So just dont belive what you see or read.
You are been spoon fed with your religion. get lost.

Bible doesn't mean "fact". And what science is being "shoved"? Honestly, I'm not sure what you're refering to as I haven't noticed many molecular biologists going door to door, handing out pamphlets and preaching the good news of micro-organisms. I haven't noticed many scientists on TV holding out their hand for your donations. I haven't noticed any standing on street corners waving beakers wildly and proclaiming that the end times are near.
No, I haven't claimed that scientific proof amounts to nothing more than being able to "touch"... it's so much more than that, and if you're going to try to stomp on it's face, why don't you learn what it REALLY is instead of tearing apart strawmen?
And hey, you've had a subjective religious experience, even more than one... goody. I don't care. Honestly, keep 'em all. Swim in your spirituality, marinate in it, it's no skin off my back. Just DON'T try to legislate YOUR particular preference of supernatural mandate, religious moral code and behavioral standards. This country (the United States, I mean) is STILL opperating under the 1st Amendment. Freedom of and from religion. That doesn't mean I'm entitled to have all mention or appearance of religion dissapear, it just means that no religious belief or deity is to be supported or endorsed by the government.
Science has given us modern medicine. It has given us airplanes and iPods and the computer you're using RIGHT NOW. Science has guided us away from the ignorance of the past and led us into a safer future. If God is your guide and you want to shed any scientific advancement, that's your thing and your right if you so choose... I think I'll stick with science.

Non-believers don't like to be preached at. They don't have the same values that Christians do, and they don't like it when Christians try to tell them that they're wrong. Do you like it when people tell you that you're wrong? I personally believe in the Bible, but I also believe that God created every human being with the freedom to choose his or her own destiny. We are not forced to love God; we can choose to not love Him. There is a time and place for quoting Scripture, even to non-believers, but there is also a time to be silent. Remember, actions speak louder than words. Far too many Christians talk the talk but don't walk the walk. There would be much less anger directed at Christians today if Christians really acted like Christ.

People hate to have the bible quoted to them because it's a form of having religion pushed onto them. What would you do if a scientist walked into your Chruch one day and started giving a speech about the Big Bang Theory and Evolution? You'd be pissed, right? Same difference here. But Scientists have the decency to not walk into your place of worship and force their opinions onto you. So why in the H-E-L-L would you do that to us? What gives you the right? NOTHING!!!!! Just like we don't have the right to force our beliefs onto you. However, religious people typically do not know how to keep their peace about their beliefs. Streetcorner Preachers. Jehova's Witness doorbell ringers, flyers placed on your cars, you name it.
You religious people are a bunch of hypacrits anyway. What do you do after Church? Go out to a resturaunt, right? And what do you tell people when your there? "You shouldn't be working on a Sunday, that's not right." Well guess what? IF YOU WASN'T THERE, THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!! But since you don't feel that you should do anything on Sunday, you make other people do it. Well guess what? HIPPACORATE!!!!!!!
Oh...and let's not forget that if you see anyone watching something that doesn't have a religious theme or has violence, or even suggests anything other than what is in your Bible, you complain, moan, groan, and whatever else it is you do to get them to turn it off. You can't even let people listen to their music without going "That's the Devil's music. Your gonna burn in h-e-l-l for listening to that." Guess what? WE DON'T CARE!!!! Let us be happy our way, and we'll let you be happy your way.
LEARN TO KEEP YOUR PEACE ABOUT YOUR BELIEFS AND PEOPLE WOULD STOP HATING YOU FOR IT!!!!!!
P.S.: Yeah, this is a bit of a rant, but this is my standpoint. If you don't like it, you can blow it out your bum!!!!!

I think there are plenty of non-believers who don't react the way you describe because they aren't seeking out conflict. I have had the Bible quoted to me and have smiled and on occasion thanked them for the sentiment. I assume what they are saying means they sincerely care. As for what science has provided me, I would have to say it has provided some things I might sometimes take for granted. Science, which includes chemistry, has given us the inks that made wide spread printing of books possible. Which, as an informed Christian, you know helped spread the word of God. It also opened the door for all people to learn and investigate information on their own. Bring us up to today and we have the technology we are using to communicate right now. It is a product of science. I understand that you are probably searching for what science has given me emotionally or spiritually. Science, for some people like me, opens doors to questions about where we come from and what we are. I can accept that I might not get all those answers. Why am I happy anyway? I have found guidance in the people I have known and the knowledge that has come from those who have learned some things the hard way. This can be both from people I know and books I have read. Science has shown us countless ways to improve our lives and to even help others. I am grateful that science has been able to help save lives by more accurately predicting things like tornados. The deepers questions intrigue me as well, but I know that I may never know some things and science has shown me to be patient and not try to declare absolutes in a careless fashion. To put it simply, science isn't a religion to me because science, by its definition, is flexible. Religion isn't.
Now, if you wanted to offend me with a quote from the Bible it might be something like this..... Exodus 21:4 If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and children children shall be her masters, and he shall go out by himself. 5 And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free. 6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post, and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him forever.
Any religion setting out rules of slavery such as this and not having a God with the love to tell his children that slavery is wrong is an evil and sadistic God ...or what is written is simply a tool to control people by manipulating their superstitions.

The Bible is only proof of the Bible. The Bible is internally inconsistent and logically indefensible. o quote the bible amounts to saying "It's true because it says it's true". No reasonable person would accept this from most sources, so it becomes obvious that Bible thumpers are not reasonable.

From the point of an atheist who is now a Mormon.
To a non-believer, scripture IS NO PROOF so quoting it is as meaningless as NOTHING.
To an atheist, science cooks your food every morning and gets you to work safely and provides you a job and gets your kids to school and puts dinner on the table and fixes your kids broken arm when he falls and does a triple bypass on your grandfather when he nearly smokes and eats himself to death. Yea, even for a Christian, science is unavoidable. YOU are using a computer that was created with science not with scripture aren't you?
