I was in a car accident well over a year ago. I wasn't the driver, but I was also not wearing my seatbelt. We were coming out of the university parking lot, when some idiot ran a stop and hit us almost head on. I was thrown into the windshield. Needless to say, I was injured very badly from head to toe. I spent the night in the ER getting stitched back together. Amazingly, no broken bones. I had to get surgery for some damage, and my scars have mostly healed, yet the pain in my head from the initial impact to the left still occurs on a weekly basis. I ask my doctor, he tells me I had a bad concusion, and to just give it time and keep popping pills.

Does this pain in the head ever completely go away? It's just one area on the left side of my forehead and into the top of my head, where most of the major stitching took place. Has anyone had anything similar?

Get a second opinion from a pain management clinic and from a neurologist.

With all injuries it takes your body time to heal. From what you say it was a very nasty impact so give it time.
The doctors are right that for now to keep taking the tablets to help with the pain.

You may however find that you will suffer from pain on the site of the stitches etc on and off for the rest of your life.

I haven't, but I am sorry that you are suffering pain. I am glad you didn't get any worse injuries.

Maybe there is something unrelated to the car accident that is going on there. Maybe the pills he prescribes are not working for you and you might need to switch medication.

I cannot think of anything else but God Bless you and I hope the pain goes away.

Pain is the body's way of telling you something is not right. I would get a second opinion from a different doctor. You could have something seriously wrong. GO NOW.

Aw, the body usually does a good job of healing itself. Just be sure to have some cat scans or an MRI to rule out anything else that could be causing the pain.

I hope it gets better!

p.s. we could be twins!
