Hey Girl!!!...Love the hair :0)
I have Vontage and so far I love it. I live in an area where there was only one carrier, Frontier.....Hate em.
They didn't offer any really good packages and had NO unlimited local or long distance packages....the explanation I got was that they had FCC restrictions. I live in an area that use to be a rurial territory, then overnight (about a 5 year period) the town grew by almost 100, 000 people with the influx of new homes. The city I live in (Elk Grove, California) is one of the nation's fastest growing cities...so anyway. AT&T is still battling the FCC in order to get into our once small town (30, 000 people) to our now much bigger town (121,000 people).
Anyway, my phone bill was always high...so I decided to go with Vontage
It's smooth and clear. I can't tell the difference, and the bill is really cheap. I have Comcast cable for my internet service and am saving money over what I had with the phone company which included DSL. There is a lot to be said about having a land telephone line I must admit. If your carrier is a good one and offers really nice packages I would stay with a land telephone line service. If you have cable internet (which truthfully is NOT better than DSL) then you might save money going with Vontage.
Comcast is starting in many areas (not mine yet) to offer VoIP phones. Their packages are really nice...very comparable to the packages that AT&T offer, which includes their own version of cable TV their satellite service (totally not worth it in bad weather)...so really it boils down to cost and necessity. The one thing I would not recommend is if you have a home alarm system Vontage may not be the best choice for you.

Vonage is great. I have been with them for something like a year and a half. I love it, I have the unlimited plan so I can call anywhere and talk as long as I want. The only real con, as long as you have high speed internet is if you live where you can't get a local number and people have to call you long distance even if they are right across the street from you. But you can always call them. The sound quality is excellent. It has all the features and only costs $25/month.
