Some cats are inherently more fearful, and it has nothing to do with breed. In each litter you will see there are bolder and more timid kits. You may not be able to change your cat's nature but you can encourage his trust and broaden his experience so that things being come familiar and less frightening. THAT SAID, even some friendly and trusting cats have a strong startle reflex. This is just a sensitivity which is part of their nature.
If there is one thing you'd like to work on, then find a way to make it less threatening and more commonplace. For instance, if your cat always hides when people come to visit, choose one friend to come and visit often, especially at cat mealtimes and ignore the cat! Cats find eye contact threatening. Over time, you can encourage your cat to approach first you and later the visitor with treats. Remember to do baby steps!

I had a siamese cat and it was the same way. Also my grandma had one and it was too. I think it has to do with breed. They're just naturally skiddish from what I've heard. Just be sure to pay lots of attention to him and hold him whenever he will let you. He'll warm up some but may always be, well, a scaredy cat!

That sounds interesting. How can he be scared of everything but do everything that you tell him to do??? I am a cat lover too, and I have seen all kinds of cats...what do you mean that he doesn't know he's a cat? Sounds like an interesting friend to have. Good luck and God bless.

Cats, like human beings are available in categories. some are in basic terms mean. you're letting her be mean. I had an previous boy cat that would desire to shop the kittens from the nutrients and bang them on the top while they have been given to close. while the kitten is 3 months and enormous adequate to preserve himself, enable them to conflict it out for somewhat. they hiss and scratch and all way of posturing, you will possibly desire to enable them to do it they are going to artwork it out.. Step in while it sort of feels somebody is in possibility. As for biting you that's no longer allowed, grab her by ability of the scruff and enhance her to her hind ft. this might launch a hormone to make her relax. if she fights enhance her somewhat bigger. enable bypass while she calms down. My previous boy became a energetic handful too. yet I enjoyed him the final ..:) he's waiting for me on the rainbow bridge...

Poor Kitty. Smart Kitty, but it is sad that he is so nervous. Maybe his vet could give him a Kitty tranquilizer.
I just happened to think of a cat I had once, who reacted like that to cat nip.

cats and kittens are nerous sometimes, my cat used to be afraid of the vacumm, so i turned it off, let the cat check it out both on and off, and now he is ok with it
also loud noises and loud talking scares them, so try to keep it down and cat will adjust
