I met tis woman at my work on tues and finally talked to her on fri after watching other guys try to get w/her. We had simple conversations and laughed a whole bunch. Today the same thing we laughed and talked alot and basically we both just talk to eachother now. I asked her for her number (she has no cell) and she said she doesnt give out her home number. Usually at this point I stop talking to women cuz I feel rejected but for some reasone we syill kept talking and nothing fely weird then I said its nice to be able to hold a conv w/some1 and she blushed big time. Im gonna ask her to dinner next week and just see what happens. But can any of you women out there tell me what shes doin? Is she playing hard to get or is it something else?

She probably has been hurt, rejected, etc so many times that she may not want to date right now. She could have just gotten over a relationship and just needs some space. Or she could be a lesbian. Give the asking her out a try and see what the answer is. Otherwise try the group situation a try by getting a group of coworkers together on night and ask if she could come and then try to be friends with her first.

She probably does not want to get involved with somebody at work, if things go sour then work becomes unpleasant and it could mean her having to change jobs.
Give her time. just do lunch and talk for a month or two, maybe one night, if you work late, say, hey want to go out and get dinner. Or find a common interest, maybe music or something, then suggest going to an event and see what happens,

Sounds like she likes you, but is being careful... do at least give it a shot & ask her out for dinner.
It may be that she's be hurt in the past & just wants to know she can trust/believe in a guy before she gives her number.
She may think of it as being>>> a little deeper involved... if she gives her number.

I think she's just being cautious. Good for her to not give out her number right off the bat. Go ahead and ask her out to dinner. Let her get to know you before she gives you her number. From the description of your interactions it sounds like she is attracted to you. God bless!
