Weird. I don't know. Might be some form of regional American accent. It does bother me when I hear it, though.
I remember watching Desperate Housewives a while back and I heard Nicolette Sheridan, whose character Edie Britt is a realtor, pronounce it that way.
That's okay, though. I'm in the healthcare field and I hear people with three to four different pronunciations for one word. Yeah. Makes you wonder which one to use.
I also hear the world "jewelry" being pronounced [jew-le-ry], whereas I've always thought that the correct pronunciation is [jew-wel-ry].

Re.al.tor is pronounced [ree-alter]. It is pronounced differently in the UK and US. Also some people have difficult in pronouncing it and thus end up with the non standard pronunciation. The same goes for the word jewelry too. Although, the oral pronunciations are accepted only the standard pronunciation enters as standard language in references.
