There are many reasons why people want children, those reason vary from wanting someone to look after them in their old age to wanting to pass on their genes. Personally I had children as an expression of the love my partner I shared. Passing on our genes is the overwhelming and physical reason we have offspring, we cant help it, that is the way nature works. But when you have children, it is so much more than that. They can be a source of joy or sorrow. They are very hard work. Please think carefully before having children, and dont forget, it is your duty and responsibility to love them, to care for them and to bring them up to be caring human beings

i've thought about it long and hard many years back and concluded its people's way of gaining immortality. They like to relive their lives through their children, some even go as far as trying to decide what future vocations their children should take up. Others have kids because its the thing to do, here in Essex where i am teenage girls keep popping them out (its a long tale in our local newspaper) so that they can benefit from the free housing and benefits the council offers them and in so doing, get out of the house and BEST OF ALL ditch school. (never mind if one wonders wot kind of society this breeds) its just essex init?
i dont judge people, its not my place, i'd love to have a baby, i dunno why, just would love and know that given time, i will. too many things happening in my life right now. i think having a baby would be like a new beginning, i want to someone to take up where i've left off trying to understand this world and the people living in it...like a second chance, how about you?

For a long time, I didn't want children. When my sis had her babies, I couldn't believe how utterly wonderful the experience of being with a beloved child was! I knew then that I had love I wanted to give a child. And that's when I wanted children.

I just think that ppl that fall in love want to reproduce and make little mixtures/creations of themselves. If you are deeply in love with someone, and you both want kids, then you have them. You get excited to see what the children will look like as well. It also gives the parents something to be proud of and care about, and nurture and watch become little ppl. Plus it gives them someone to take care of THEM when they are old.

I wanted them because I think children that are wanted bring out the best in us. A parent should want children so he/she can share their love with humanity. Plus, civilization will die off if we don't reproduce.

Your question is a bit puzzling, because the word parents means that you already have children, so the question says if you already have children do you want them? I can really see folk thinking, no actually I've changed my mind, let's put them back. Ouch, that would hurt.

Bill Cosby described it as "erotic arts and crafts... Let's see what we can make !" Personally, for my husband and I it wasn't so much having children as much as it was having a FAMILY. We started our own little universe with our kids and along the way we've learned more from them than they could ever learn from us. I wouldn't trade a minute of it.

To love....the best times in my life are when my children were babies and I nestled them and loved them (the times they were growing up were a little tough but worth it) and now they have blessed me with wonderful grandchildren...
