1. It doesn't. You could have been asking about aliens.

2. My own theory? They know how ridiculous their beliefs sound to those of us who don't believe the same way, and maybe they're starting to agree, and don't want to admit it? There's a quote somewhere, and I hope I'm not butchering it too much....
"methinks thou doth protest too much"

To your first question - I do not see that it made specific referance.

The second question - there are answers in defense of christianity because that is where those people's view point is from. Some christians choose to filter their entire world through their religion. Hence, when a question was asked that mentioned anything of a "divine" nature they automatically jump to Jesus & God.

Unfortuneatly - it doesn't leave much room for discussion or learning.

When asking a question to all different nationalities, cultures, and religions, you have to expect answers from Christians as well. When answering a question, don't you give an answer based on your beliefs and knowledge? A higher power or supernatural being to a Christian, like myself would mean God, to someone else it could mean something entirely different- but each would answer accordingly. I don't see
this as a defense of Christianity, only as an answer based on our belief in God. I don't have to defend my religion, I am strong and secure in my beliefs.

They answered your question. Do you not understand what it is YOU asked?

---------------
How does it advance our understanding of the universe to suppose that it was created by a "supernatural being" who communicates only through the one-way process of "revelation"?
-------------------------

The Supernatural Being, I, would assume at this point, even you, would agree it, be a God. You ask how this "God" can communicate through "revelation".

It's called. Rapture. When Christ "Reveals" Himself the 3rd coming. It's called "Revelation".

It can't get more simplistic than this. I, let 3 neighborhood kids read this question. They all laughed and left. They wouldn't waste their time explaining to you, your own question.
.
. Try again. This one didn't make the grade.

I know! I feel the same way you do. whenever i ask a question regerding god, not specifically any god, christians always get defensive and quote scripture, or tell that because i'm an atheist i wouldn't understand. Why don't they just answer the question?!!!

You questioned about a "supernatual being"..

These are just the beliefs and the thoughts of others..isn't that why you ask questions on here...to get others to respond to what you say?!

Thanks for pointing this out!

Christians sometimes seem to think that they have the only religion in existance.
