Why can't God forgive my sin because I say I'm sorry, I mean it, and I really make an effort to love people and do the right things. I mean we have all heard the analogy that he is a loving father right? Well I am a father to and I cannot imagine my daughter coming to me and saying "Dad, I am really sorry for screwing up, can you please forgive me" and me responding, "no not unless there is a blood sacrifice. Either you have to die and shed your blood or I will kill your older brother and he can be the atonement for your sin. only then will I forgive you." Does God really do this? If so how can we really call him a good and loving father?

There is no blood sacrifice! You just ask for forgiveness!

God doesn't do this, but He DID do this. Jesus was the last sacrifice. The Jews in the Old Testament had to shed the blood of a first born lamb, goat... Jesus came along and died for me. And yes, God is the Good Father. You're a father. Say your daughter comes up to you and tell you that she wrote all over her bedroom wall (and of course, you already konw of this). As a good father, do you just say "okay. Go on and play"? Or, as a good father would do, would you punish her? Teach her a lesson?

The Good Father is also the Good Judge. In the end of it all, God will judge every single one of us. Now let's put this in today's situation. Say you get caught speeding. You go to court. You are found guilty. You plead to the judge that since he is a "good" judge and because you are very sorry and you promise to never do it again, he should let you go. Now, is that being a "good" judge? No! A good judge will punish you. He's not going to let you off the hook just because you feel sorry. So the judge tells you to pay $25,000 (you were really speeding...). What if a man would walk up to the judge and pay your fine for you?

That's what Jesus did. He paid for my fines, your fines, everybody's fines. He did this before it even happened. Whenever we break the law, God, the Good Judge, needs to punish us. But Jesus will walk up to the Judge and pay our fine for us. But He only does this for those that accept Him.

I know to those who unbelieve, it sounds crazy. Why would our sins be covered up (it would be like you painting over what your daughter drew on the wall)? The Bible says that our sins will be forgiven but that there are also a punishment. You kill someone, God will forgive you, but there's also a consequence: jail.

So to answer your question, God DOESN'T do it, He DID it.

The Bible says without blood there is no remission of sins. (Hebrews 9:22) In the Old Testament, people used animal sacrifices. In the New Testament, Jesus was given as that sacrifice. God does require a blood sacrifice, but the cool thing is that He gave Himself, in the form of Jesus, as that sacrifice. It's already done. He did it Himself.

Because God told us in the Bible that there is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood. He did however, offer His own son, Jesus, as the Lamb of God who came to take away the sin of the World.

This "Lamb" was also sacraficed and His blood spilled...but for us.

Do you understand the Old Testament Levitical "shedding of blood" was done with animal sacrafice? And then Christ was not killed for his own sin or wrongdoing. He gave himself to atone for All sin for All men for All time. You sound a little mixed up on how all this worked.

Don't know what bible you been reading but I don't know of any christian that believes they have to give a blood sacrfifice to be saved. Instead of getting weird in your head about things why don't you try actually picking up that old dusty bible on your bookshelf eh? The only blood sacrifice relevant to christianity is the one that was made on our behalf by Christ. You are a very strange person have you been living on another planet?
Recieve the death of jesus as having been done on your behalf. Ask Him for forgiveness, turn from sin and invite Him to send His spirit in your heart and be the Lord of your life. Whala!!! You saved.

Salvation is not about you being sorry but it about trusting in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. He died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. His perfect blood had to be offered to take away your sins. Hebrews 9: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?Hebrews 9: 22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

You should get away from what ever told you that, because you are getting your self and your family into a cult that practice blood sacrifice, God forgives just as you know you would forgive your children. what ever you do get away from who ever told you that. read and study the scriptures for your self and what you don't understand ask God to give you understanding and I know He will.

Well it used to be the blood of animals but i think it was because God gave to men the animals in the first place and he just wanted to teach man to appreciate what he gives them, not because he is warped and now its Jesus and thats the blood that cleanses us and it pleased the father to watch his son be bruised.

It would be unjust, it would be stealing the rights from those whom you have caused to suffer. But don't worry, Edmund, Aslan has already payed the price for you to just 'say you're sorry'. Now you have to live up to the infinite love that has been freely given to you.

I'm not Christian, but I'm pretty sure a blood sacrifice isn't asked for, nor is it necessary lol.

Sounds more like something you'd hear ancient Egyptian deities ask.
