Hmm...this is one of those tricky ones. If an attractive man is looking for, say 5 seconds, then it's being looked at, or even 'admired'. But if the male in question is not 'attractive' - or not as attractive as they are in shiny magazines, then they are either 'gawpy losers', or 'oddities'...then again, if both groups' wallets are loaded, then the latters' 'gawps' are quietly forgotten about...for the time being, anyhow.

Alot of people like being looked at, whether they're male or female. BUT there are good ways of looking, and bad ways of looking.

If your body language or expression is wrong, then just looking at somebody can seem like staring. A woman who's being looked at that way can feel awkward or angry or self-conscious.

I'd say a glance and a smile is good, and if you're interested then go and talk to her! But try to stay away from staring, because that just upsets people.

Women liked being looked at in a non staring way. Also weather she likes it or not will depend on how attractive she perceives the guy to be in terms of looks and how rich he is.

because i'm painfully shy (have always been and as a result only started having sex at age 29 - nothing to do with looks, in fact i was pressurised by my then doctor boyfriend) i dont like being looked at, i find i am clumsy at making eye contact and the like whereas to most other girls it seems quite natural. I -dont- have problems with my self-esteem, and i am terribly honest despite what people say about the eye contact thing... i find it most amazing that some girls here in essex where i stay, do the 'scouting and hunting'. i'm just too retiring! i wish i wasnt but i dont know how else to overcome this thang called shyness, but then, thats just me. as a result i've never allowed being chatted up by strangers, cause if i get looked at, i FLEE!

We like to be smiled at and noticed by a cute guy but we don't like old men or in fact any man staring at us, that's just scarey.

No doubt about it, girls LOVE to be looked at...even if they "say" they don't like it...they do. It makes them feel pretty enough to be looked at, and when we know a guy is checking us out it makes our self-esteem go up higher because that means...a guy took time out of his life to look at US. BUT, we don't like it when guys are like "Dam, look at that A**"...u kno? We liked to be apreciated by our faces rather than our figure...but what kinda girl doesn't like it when a guy "checks" her out?!?!
