You can use a drop of regular human ear/eye polysporin on it for a few days to see if it helps before you consult a vet. It always worked on my cats. For the dog, my bf insisted I take it to a vet and it cost unnecessary money for the consult and then ended up with eyedrops from the vet but I'm sure it's the same sort of drops as humans...the dog's worm medicine is the same according to the vet.

Could be allergies, an upper respiratory infection, or a plugged tear duct. Babies tend to get plugged tear ducts, too. My son had it, and his eye would be crusted shut every morning until it passed. To help with the eye nastiness, wipe the kitten's eye gently with a damp washcloth. But since there's sneezing, I'd suspect the kitten's allergic to something or has an upper respiratory infection. Time for a trip to the vet.
Good luck!

If he has trouble breathing do shower aspiration until you can get him to the vet. This work great on cats. Just lock yourself in the bathroom with him and run your shower on hot for 10-15 minutes. Stay with him to comfort him because he won't like it, but it will open up his breathing. Also, cats sometimes get a herpes viral infection in the eye from stress. This is probably not the case for your cat since he is exhibiting symptoms of a cold, but the cure for that is to give him L-lysine. It is an amino acid that cats need, but rarely get enough of. You can find it in the vitamin isle at any vitamin selling store. I crush it with 2 spoons, mix with water and use a baby medicine dropper to give to cat. 1/2 tab, twice daily as needed. This is probably not your cats problem but it can't hurt. I would use very little for a baby kitten though.

it's probably and upper respiratory infection. One thing people haven't mentioned is that it could have a foxtail in its eyes and nose... is it an outdoor cat?? if it is a foxtail that would explain the sneezing and the closed shut eye with liquid coming out of it. You need to take it to your vet. Good luck and i hope your kitten feels better!

Poor baby. Could be an allergies, eye infection or a cold. Use a wet warm cloth to "soak" the crusty stuff until you can wipe it away. See how your kitty acts for a little while and if he seems sickly, call your vet. They may want you to bring him in for a check up.
Good luck!!

I would say pretty certainly that he has a "kitty cold" which may be a virus resolving itself in a week or so.
You must watch him carefully to see that it doesn't get worse. If the eye has a yellow discharge, his breathing becomes more difficult, he stops eating, etc. If those things develop a vet should check him out.

Definately sounds like an Upper Respiratory Infection. It's time for him to see the vet. URI's are easily treated when caught early. Don't worry, he should be fine after the vet sees him!
