My buddy quit some heavy smoking and doesn't feel good... would he have any kind of permanent damage or will he feel normal again soon.

I have never heard of or known anyone to experience permanent damage physically (and pot is NOT physically addictive, in any case), however, your friend's pot may have been laced with things that his system is sensitive to. If the problem feels physical, time, good nutrition, & plenty of rest may get him through this period--and or a detoxification program (check out the health food store for this) if that seems practical.

Also, I have noticed that some individuals who have been heavy smokers for years, have used the substance as a way of dealing with people. It sort of keeps them calm & more objective in otherwise frustrating interactions with others (which is not a bad thing, of course), and when the substance is taken away, the absence of that calm & easy going feeling can make it tough to take the world as it is without buffers.

If your friend is serious about quitting for whatever reason, therapy (check out low cost sources in your area, if you need to) might be a good way to help them through this difficult transition and perhaps learn some new skills to make up for what's been lost. Hope this is helpful & good luck to your friend.

zero damage. Life will seem booring for a week or so then back to normalcy.

Methinks the only permanent damage will be in knowing that life really is much more interesting on pot.

There should be no damage done by stopping. There could be damage if he keeping smoking it. The only secondary effect will be he will think he is psychic he'll be like "I wonder where I left my keys, oh right there in my pocket..........Whoa! How did I know that?"

You don't develop a physical dependence on pot, just psychological.
