Okay, so it is my sister's birthday and I really want to get her cooking lessons from one of the schools near there. However, I'm not familiar with the area, so does anyone know of a good one near there. (Specifically she is in Sunnyvale, but as long as it is remotely close it doesn't really matter)

I live in Burlingame.

Emile's school referenced above is for an 11-week course. He also offers corporate team building sessions. Both are excellent, if you want to spend the money.

Draeger's in Menlo Park and San Mateo offers single session evening cooking classes. Many are very good.

For the money, try Hugh Carpenter's Napa Culinary Camp. It's a blast. He also teaches at Draeger's.
