Genius IQ is set at 175. So if you score 175 or higher on an official IQ test, congratulations you are a genius with a certified genius level IQ! You are one in a million! You join the ranks of such luminaries as Bobby Fischer, the chess champion (187). If you scored an IQ level of 195, then you'd be one in several billion, just like Long Island bouncer Chris Langan, who not only flexes a muscular 250lb physique but a muscular mind that notches up a certified genius level IQ of over 195!

Genius level IQ is not gender specfic. Obviously! According to the bio on the dust jacket of her book, "Brain Power: The 12-Week Mental Training Programme", author Marilyn Vos Savant has the highest IQ ever measured at 230. Various commentators on the web suggest an adjusted IQ estimate of around 185 because the 230 score was in her childhood. As the genius in question behind Parade magazine's "Ask Marilyn" column, Marilyn Vos Savant seems to attract a lot of hostility, with various wags gleefully leaping upon her errors and publishing them on the Marilyn Is Wrong website!

Intelligence cannot solely be measured by IQ. Genius level intelligence is in various forms, shapes and sizes. We can't compare the artistic intelligence of Michael Angelo, with mathematical intelligence of Sir Issac Newton. We cannot compare the intelligence of William Shakespeare with that of Albert Einstein's. Genius is the manifestation of a peak level of performance in any given field of intelligence, and IQ measures only 1 aspect of intelligence, therefore, we cannot measure the intelligence of people by using IQ.
And I believe, we don't need to, the works and the contributions of the people will show how intelligent they are.

Here is a chart of IQ classifications. Where was the BBC Test the Nation Given? If it was not personally administered to you, it is not really valid.

IQ Range Classification
140 and over Genius or near genius
120-140 Very superior intelligence
110-120 Superior intelligence
90-110 Normal or average intelligence
80-90 Dullness
70-80 Borderline deficiency
Below 70 Definite feeble-mindedness

I am guessing that you are probably of above average intelligence, but probably not a genius.

Sorry for the let down.

If you were a genius you'd be doing something with your time and life trying to excel rather than asking a bunch of strangers on some internet site whether you are a genius. Anyway a high IQ doesn't mean anything if you don't put the hard work and effort to make something of yourself. You must have seen the really old vegetarian on the show with an IQ of 146. She didn't seem like a genius and that's probably because although her brain works well, she hasn't done many significant things in her life that have changed the world in a spectacular way. So in my opinion people like you and her aren't geniuses until you do something like Einstein or Flamming or Marie Curie. So good luck with that!

Being a genius isn't about how high your I.Q. is.

To be a real genius you have to leave your subject different from the way you found it. Like Albert Einstein did with physics. He's considered a genius not because of any of his test scores.

I don't think genius is about IQ, it's about innovation.
