Some are wondering about what version of the bibel i am quoting. There are at least 4 versions, which essentially say the same. How can a perfect book written by God have "versions," anyway???

You left out the part where it says its ok to sell your daughter into slavery and the part where its ok to discipline unruly children by stoning them to death. Why leave out the other fun parts? ;)

The Bible has nothing against babies. Your confusion is what happens when someone is not versed in the Bible goes in and takes something out of context. I suggest you find a good Bible study group so you can learn about the Bible. I find it interesting that out of the whole Bible, which is full of wonderful verses, especially Psalms, you pick that and then label your question as you did. Why didn't you ask what it meant instead of accusing the Bible of something so foolish? Do you have an agenda?

I don't have my bible with me, I just got home from church & left my bible in the car for tonight service. So I can't actually comment on your verse until I read the other verses around it, Sorry, But I do know that the Bible has nothing against babies, Didn't Jesus said suffer it so that a little child shall come unto him, For such is the kingdom of heaven.

I have seen several translations of this psalm. A better translation is "Bless those who bash babies heads against rocks. It refers to bashing the babies of non-believers which is encouraged by the bible. The idea being that it is better to smash their little brains in now rather than take a chance of their being raised against god.

Who's babies?????, they may be not the angels, children's of God, good and godly peoples, but the next generations of Evil doers, or perhaps some of the descendants of the beast. "Everyone whom should harm, and threaten one of this angel, deserved to die"., and there is one more, "If you hold one of this angels in your arms, think and treat then, like was me whom you are holding", Remember, this is all in the bases that "Life is God Business". Through my own experience, I can tell you that The beast (The Demon-Man), is real and, have more than one descendant, with the help of a U.S., Woman???, right here in U.S.

I'm not sure what version of the Bible you're using, but the King James Version says this:
O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

it's not saying "God hates kids and will bless those who kill them" it's saying, "Babylon, you are a sinful nation and people will come in and destroy you. and those who destroy you will be merciless ppl who find happiness in killing kids."
God does not want to hurt children.

nothing. i'm not christian but then again the bible, quran, and torah are pretty similar in content.

i think what's trying to be said is those that are willing to kill their own child for God are true believers/the blessed. basically you're not putting human life before God's word.

don't just take one verse and that's it, read the whole thing, know why and to whom it was being said....be informed! The language is figurative. If you read the whole thing you'll see it's referring to Babylon and the exiles there...Babylon represents idolatry; her children are the idol images beloved by her (Babylon). To destroy these (IDOLS!!!) is indeed happiness to the servants of Truth! "thou shall have NO other gods (IDOLS)"

Christians, agree?

Not a simple answer to this.....

8. O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
9. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Babylon is the whore in Revelation... the babies or little ones are her followers.

The study to truly comprehend this is very intense and in depth.

You have to gain an understanding of the Bible as a whole to comprehend some of the analogies used.
