Sadly I had been addicted to Pepsi & Coca Cola for many years. I stopped 3x & am finally no longer addicted. I had the chance to visit the factory where they bottle the soda. What they told me was ENOUGH TO MAKE ME QUIT drinking the stuff! I asked WHY they had the syrup stored behind locked doors. Their rep said that it was to prevent theft. I told them that IF I wanted to take the product, I would grab a case from the pallet, since there were hundreds of cases. THEN I was told that the product is so corrosive that it MUST be stored properly or it could eat away at the floors! The other thing is that all the sodas that I know of, use high fructose corn syrup which is NOT good for our body. It will make you hungrier & you will tend to eat more food & drink more.
On the PLUS side, just by discontinuing drinking soda, cutting back on salt & exercising only about 10 minutes each day I lost a WHOPPING 40 pounds in 5 years. NO painful diet. I now look & feel a whole lot better.

I was a serious Coke lover but I made my self try Coke zero and after a couple of weeks I got used to the taste. I was up to about a 12 pack a day.
Free bag of Chocolate from Nestle.

I'm a huge Mt Dew addict. I don't drink coffee but used to start my day with a Mt. Dew every day then as a pick-me-up after lunch. It used to be a standing joke at work that if there was a Mt. Dew on my desk, keep on walking 'cuz I get crazy...it's like crack in soda form :-) I talk so fast that you can't understand what I'm saying and I type IM's so fast no one can keep up. You might think I'm on the Dew now, but I gave it up a few weeks ago to lose 10 lbs. Sigh...I really miss my Dew fix!!

Seven Up, actually.
I kicked a severe caffeine habit virtually overnight after making the lovely blunder of buying a 24-pack of Coke classic (1988). Guess what happened next.

caffeine and sugar are both addicting. even diet soda is not good for you because of all the sodium.

I don't drink soda anymore. It's not good for you. I have maybe like one glass of pop a month. I really like gingerale though, when I do have pop.
