my ideal self would be like i used to be, confident, funny,respectful,loving,self sufficient.

Ideal self is the image you see as being the best for you. According to theory lots of people never reach their ideal self because it is set at such a hig standard, but you can get as close to it as possilbe. Your ideal self probably has no faults, but that's not human.

like the best of one's self, or perhaps the "goddest" self of that person. All the great quality exist in that self and no one's self can ever have that, which is never true in reality.

The person you think you are, your ultimate image of yourself as opposed to the flawed actual person other people see.


Like when a small child thinks they are speaking perfectly coherently, but to everyone else it sounds like gibberish. I remember this one personally.
