its best to use a bow press so that ou can release the tension then open the string in the area where you think you might need the peep then take out of bow press draw your bow in a safe condition ofcourse then raise or lower your peep to where you need it,its easeir to have someone with you so they can raise or lower the peep but once you have it where you want it use your serving string to tie your knot some people tie nots on both ends of the peep using a sinch line between the 2 so that they put tension on each other so that the peep doesnt move but its worth the ride to your local bow shop most of them will do it for you for free.but here is a little picture i found http://www.3dshoots.com/forums/showthread.php?t=628

I put the peep in the string, then draw the bow and look through the peep moving it up or down as needed. Then I wrap the string neer the peep on top and bottom with dental floss

hi there, set your peep where you want it,mark center of peep, make sure you have an even strand count on both sides, measure the peep, now a half inch up from the end of the peep tie a knot with a half inch of tail, slide the peep down the string so the v is open and not putting to much preasure where you are tieing,i use a piece of old string or black nylon fishing line, dental floss works but the white on the string looks bad,now start with about 2 feet of string, hold the tag end down and start tieing cinch knots or half hitches down a half inch making sure you pull them tight, now slide the peep up tight, and start at the bottem side this will be harder to pull together, and will take 2or 3 ties before it starts to come together, keep going down the string a half inch, on your last half hitch pull it as tight as you can and burn the tag end into a ball at the string, now if you want you can measure from the bottom of your upper cam to the center of your peep hole, write this number down somewhere, and you can check now and then to see if its is moving on you,,,, works for me
