The question is worded poorly. No, just because a child doesn't recieve breastmilk doesn't mean he'll automatically become an invalid....

However, babies do need breastmilk to be able to reach their fullest potentials as healthy infants and even into adulthood. Adults who had breastmilk as infants have a higher average IQ than those who drank formula. It also helps the mother short-term by bonding and helping lose weight and in the long term by reducing her risk of cancer.

Please let those you love know about the benefits of breastfeeding.

what IS true is that breastmilk is best for babies
what is not true is that if you decide not to breastfeed, your child will be weak - totally untrue
formulas are created to give the child all of the nutrients that baby needs
the advantage of breast milk is it's got all of the antibodies that babies need from you - it is cheap, convenient, just the right temp, and available 24 / 7.
formulas will take work, sometimes irritate the child's digestive system, are a pain to buy, store and prepare.
but it's still your choice.

The way it was intended to be, which is the mother feeding the child herself has health benefits. Giving it formula most definately is not the healthier alternative when it comes to feeding.
I would always seggest feeding the baby naturally. Fake baby milk (Formulas) will not have as much nutrition as the mother's milk and it is more nurturing for the mother to feed the child. Naturally, its a nurturing process. It lets the baby know that he is truly prized, loved and protected. :)

Well, the current view is that breast feeding improves the baby's immune system and digestive system. Breast feeding has also been shown to improve a baby's mental development. So one could possibly argue that a baby could become weaker by not breast feeding. Nonetheless, if a mother can breast feed than she should for the physical and psychological health of the baby.

Mother's milk has a lot of things in it that can help a child be strong, but technology has made many good formulas that can give a child all the nutrients they need. I was not breast fed, and I am very strong.

more or less, yeah he will be. he'll get sick more often than a breastfed baby, low weight, but if you want further info ask this in the pregnancy section...they know more there than we do here

and if she doesn't want to feed naturally, tell her to get a breast pump....thats what it is for

NO no no! I couldn't breast feed because my milk never came in! I have three very healthy, strong, bright formula fed kids.
