My hairdresser owns the Helix Co. She has told me it depends on the person and a lot depends on what kind of product you use in your hair. She says if it is a good replenishing/refining shampoo/conditioner, then it is ok to wash every day. If you use a product that contains a lot of alcohol it is not good to wash daily, you will dry your hair out fast.

I think that it depends person to person. I cant wash my hair every day because it will dry out. I typically wash my hair every other day, on day 2 i usually put baby powder in my hair if it is looking a little oily, which also actually works as a great volumizer if you are looking for a little lift! this also i think depends on what you do with your day. if i go to the gym then of course i will wash my hair right away, even if i washed it the day before. something else to remember is that your scalp is skin and everyones is going to have different qualities, like your face. somepeople have oily or normal or dry faces. same thing with your scalp.
well hopefully this answers your question...

I Wash It Everyday, But They Say If Once A Month You Put Your Hair Up In A Bandana And Leave It UnWashed For 4-5 Days Then Wash Out All The Oil In Will Prevent Breakage.

Once you start not washing it every day, it gets better and stays cleaner longer. I only wash about 2 or 3 times a week, but I don't put a lot of products in my hair. Never looks as good as the first day. I either touch it up with a curling iron or pull top or sides back or there is always the pony tail.

People say things all the time. Individuals are capable of making informed decisions and should.
"They say" that running is "good for you." "They" made me run (in the military) and I suffered a permanent knee injury as a result, effectively "ending" careers to which I may have been suited. So "they say" has got to be considered a source of information, not a fact for the individual. Swimming is also a great form of exercise and much more suited to someone with my bone condition and structure.
As far as washing your hair, the same principle applies. I wash my hair often, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. This works for me and my hair.
Now you decide. What works for you?

I can go three days without washing my hair, but I just don't do anything with it on those days. Me being black helps, because my hair does not get oily like that. I really don't need to wash my hair every day, and usually wash it every other.

I wash my hair ever other day or even two days, you might want to use a clarifying shampoo and no condtioner.Espically if u say ur hair gets oily, the whole reason for not washing your hair everyday is becusae itll strip the natural oils, which the tip/ end of your hair needs. Also keep your hands out of your hair, all the oils and dirt from your hands came make ur hair even more dirty!

Every day. I have to wash mine every day as it will get oily and lifeless if I do not. I could not stand it if my hair was not clean. Eeeew. It does really depend on the individual person. Your aunt must have very dry hair and a dry, non-oily scalp. Have a good day!
