There is no way we can answer this question. It depends on your job. The rules are different everywhere. You need to go talk to your human resource representative.

Most employers are not required by law to give you paid maternity leave. You will get six weeks off unpaid because of the Family Medical Leave Act, however, they are not required to pay you unless you have that much paid vacation time saved up, or you had a contract with your employer stating in the event of pregnancy, you will get a certain number of paid days of leave. I know it sucks. I had a baby last year and not being able to get paid maternity leave put a huge strain on us. Sorry. :(

Unfortunately, very few businesses offer paid maternity leave.

In United States ,FMLA, or Family Medical Leave Act states that if you have been with an employer for one year or with so many hours logged you have a right to 12 weeks UNPAID leave where your job is held while you take care of a newborn, or prepare for childbirth. It is very rare for a company to actually pay you for the time you are away from work because of child birth.

Dont worry about it, I calculated for my own pregnancy that if you only work 5 months full time you end up with 800 hours. I dont know how it works in the US but I know in canada your maternity benifits only call for you to have 600 hours. I think its 55% of your take home pay.
Sorry if this is no help I am Canadian

I think who ever is asking the other to go out, should be the one to pay and one should definately not alway being paying. I certainly wouldn't mooch off someone all the time, nor do I have that expectation I hate the fact that just bc you may earn a higher paycheck, means you're the breadwinner. Puts a lot of pressure on the breadwinner and deflates the ego of the other persons efforts.

You should get 6 weeks of disability (8 weeks for a C-section) and 6 weeks of Paid Family Leave (for those who have been at their job for at least a year) Here in California the money comes to about 55% of your pay and comes from EDD.

Usually employeers require a minimum of 12 months on the job before they will pay for familoy medical leave. Check with your personel director and find out their policy.

If you live in the US you don't get paid. You are entitled to taking 12 weeks off and to still keep your job. However you're not even entitled to the same job. Your employeer just can't fire or lay you off.

they should do. i think you have to be there a year before you start your maternity leave so they have to pay it by law. errr... june's 3 months ago, right? so add nine months that's a year. although you ,might wanna go a bit earlier than due date... most companies will anyway, cuz you will have been there nearly a year and it's just mean not to.

I would imagine your employer has a Human Resources office right? That is where you find out about paid maternity leave.
