My situation is that I have moved on, and vise versa, but we still are glad to hear from one another. The breakup was because the relationship had grown stale(IMO), and I needed more depth. I did it via email because I was afraid to see him again. Guess I thought I wouldn't do it if I saw him again. Still haven't seen him since, and he has since moved out of state. I tried the No Contact theory, but he has called over the holidays and my birthday. And I have kept in touch once a month or so. It's just weird to me that he still cares, and that I want him to continue.

I think it's just natural to still feel a bond with someone that you were close to. (If it was a friendly break up) I still remain friends with several of my ex'es. There's really no reason not to unless it causes a problem with their current relationship, or your current relationship.

If its not going to put you back in the past it should not be a problem has long has it stays like it is?
Its scares people the thought of never actually hearing from that person again espically if you did not split up on really bad terms.
Just assure that it is friends because once one of you moved on you would want a bad reaction from the other.

Good Luck.

Maybe because you caught the problem before it really became a problem.

I would LOVE it if my ex were a decent person. He's an abusive control freak. pulled a shotgun on me once.

If you're both good with the contact then go for it.
