It is actually better if you only take it when you need it...it can be a very addictive drug..and very hard to get off of, because long term use can result in seizures when you quit cold turkey...it does make you groggy,..but should wear off by the morning..although I can still feel it when I haven't taken any in months, and take just one fourth of a 1.00 tab...so, just be careful..and better if you don't have to depend on it..it is a great drug, sad to say

Xanax is utilized for it's sedative effects. It is extremely common for it to make you drowsy as well as foggy the next morning. You can try to take 1/2 of it or even a 1/4 of it a little earlier for the relaxing effect and the other half right before bed for the additional effect of the relaxing benefits. It will give your body the relaxation it needs, however only more gradually, instead of the full sedative effecti all at once, also allowing yur body to rid it out of your system easier by morning. Xanax is usually prescribed by physicians on an prn basis (as needed) or for more severe purposes up to three times daily. As with most medications in this family of meds, the less yu have to use it is a good thing. Use it only when you need it. Some of the side-effects are nausea, headaches, somnolence (that foggy don't really care feeling), and it can cause irritability due to the groggy-sleepy feeling. Is the dose your taking 25mg?

The problem with Xanax is that it is so highly addictive..I started to take it only occasionally when I was over anxious or depressed..then next thing I knew, I could not sleep without it, then I got used to the dosage I was on, then the doctor raised it..Now I am completely addicted to it. I have tried to ease off of it...and I tried to go cold turkey. I have had seizures, loss of memory. It is horrible. It will help you sleep, it will leave you groggy in the morning, until you are used to it. Then your body will start craving it throughout the day, Please be careful, don't end up like me..
