I tought this was a honor-roll type academic program and I got it in the mail because I tought I had good grades and everything. But, one of my dumb friends got it and I asked people and they told me that anyone can get in, you just sign up on a website and bs that you have a 3.5+ GPA and your in. Also, I ordered the Who's Who Student book and its been a year and I haven't go it. My adivce, ask your parents, but I am telling you don't pay for this stuff cause' their in it for the money.

I had a teacher that nominated all the students in my class. So basically if someone nominates you, you can be in it. It is kinda of a set-up in my opinion since there is no quality control and they want you to buy stuff.

You answered your own question. At one time, it might have been a credible organization, but as it is now, it's just a scam to get you to buy their products. Anyone with about $50 to spend can be in Who's Who.

Run to the nearest exit!! This is a gimmick to get your money. My bf nominated me in high school. My parents paid for a hardback book with my name listed in it...I looked in it when I received it...haven't touched it since (25 yrs ago). That's it! No one else gave a flip...it didn't afford me any opportunities.

read your bio in it. it is a very prestigious honor and getting innto it makes you one of a select few is is the result of your grades and other criteria. it won't gain you any great opportunities but many colleges seek out those in it for special consideration when applying for college entrance. yes it is a VERY credible organization, as is the university version.

Not a total scam, but just there to make money. You get invited to be in it - IF you pay $X. So if you DON'T pay, are you suddenly not worthy of being mentioned? They seem to think so.

my counselor said it was a scam..they feature you in their book anyways but they are out to get you to buy it or update your profile..anyways you gotta ask yourself.."Are colleges really going to look at this to determine Who's Who?"....nooooooo
