Sometimes it can hurt your bones, yes, depending on the type that they give you and how your body takes it in. Your oncologist should be able to prescribe something for your husband to take to help lessen that pain. If you haven't already, ask your oncologist to prescribe something for the pain. They are there to make your life as easy and comfortable as they can while you are enduring chemo.

Yes Joan chemo does make your bones and muscles ache/hurt. My brother is a stage 4 non-Hodgkins survivor of 4 years. I too have had cancer. Radiation also makes you achy. I found Cammomile tea to be a nice help. Relaxing and easy on the stomach. Your hubba needs to tell his doc and maybe even your natural foods person in your town can help. We went all organic, and it has helped immensely! Good luck. Prayers. Nana

Yes, my son is also on chemo for b-cell lymphoma and one of the drugs he takes is supposed to cause that but luckily none of his symptoms have been too bad.
Talk to the doctor. I think maybe they could adjust his dose if it gets really bad. There really isn't much else that they can do otherwise. Sometimes they treat it very aggressively depending on what stage it's at, but maybe they can ease up on the drug that is causing it, or at least give him something for the pain.

Yeah, the bones can hurt - anything can hurt with chemo. He needs effective pain management. He should be given whatever dose of opioid analgesics that are required to relieve his pain. Do not worry about addiction. It is not an issue in severe cancer pain. The sky is the limit as far as morphine dosing is concerned, as long as it is gradually moved up in response to increased or inadequately controlled pain.

I am doing chemo too and even though it is supposed to be a "milder" treatment I still hurt. Everything hurts. Tell the doctor. They have the resource to help and they will.

Chemo can cause your entire body to ache tremendously. Tell him to try a warm bath, if possible. Try to be as comforting to him as you can. He is going through one hell of an ordeal, I just watched my sister go through chemo and it was rough. Just be there for support, both physical and mental. Best wishes to both of you and you will be in my prayers!!!!
