You won't get much use out of it with those specs or get so frustrated with the "slowness" of the computer to throw it out the window. A pentium III is probably 800Mhz so you're good there but don't expect it to run very well when you install other applications. At work we require 1.4Ghz CPU, at least 256MB of RAM and a 20GB hard drive. Anything less than that we recycle. If you have the money try and get a new computer.

Yep...but you will need a good amount of RAM to run smoothly. For Windows though, I recommend Windows 2000 or Windows 2003, the professional server line is more stable.

I even use Celeron 566Mhz and 128MB only in my PC now, i use XP SP2, Choose The Best Motherboard with big Cache memory, I use this PC for Winamp, video capture, chatting with cam, i think your pc should run on xp system too,
